Plan With The End In Mind
In Georgia, all 3rd - 8th grade students will take an end-of-grade assessment in each content area. High school students will take an end-of-course assessment for each of the eight courses designated by the State Board of Education. And while it seems like passing the state administered assessment is the finish line, there is a bigger picture in mind.
The Georgia Milestones is designed to measure a student’s readiness to move on to the next level. The next level may be the next grade level, the next course, the next level of school and eventually the end goal is to move on to college and/or a career. The end goal is to move students through the Georgia school system with a plan that will lead them to success.
To tackle this task, GaDOE provides schools with a curriculum map for each grade level and each subject area. Whether your school district is following the curriculum maps provided by the state, or has created customized plans to meet the needs of your students, Lennections would like to be a part of the journey to success.
Planning Formative Assessments to Reach Academic Goals
Having a year of instruction planned is a great start, but it’s not enough. It’s not what you are teaching but what students are actually learning that matters. Unlike the end of year and end of course exams, formative assessments are used FOR learning, not just to measure learning. Lennections formative Assesslets are used throughout the school year and are designed to complement your curriculum map. It is also important to note achievement gains credited to formative assessment practices will not emerge unless certain conditions are met. With Lennections you know you are using high-quality, rigorous content that is aligned to GSE.

Lennections Assesslets:
Align directly with the content standards to be mastered

All of the items, or tasks, match what has been, or will be taught and tested

Provide information of sufficient detail to pinpoint specific challenges, such as misunderstandings, so that teachers can make good decisions about what actions to take, and with whom

Have results available in time to take action with the students and action is taken based on the results (6 day turn around)
